a cut was made through flesh, arteries drained
Larry bathed himself
tiny red rivers stream down from his face
covering his body all the way down to his feet
a sacrifice made
a promise of devotion [a feverish faithfulness]
Larry gave himself to it with abandon [to life with a thunderous passion]
through death he became
and through life he will be undone
to be born again as something else
to be some other kind of Larry [everything is kinda Larry]
to always be a part of it
maybe baptised in a different way
— someone else’s blood, a different liquid, a different everything
baptised with the soft touch of water
baptised with the burning grip of fire
baptised with the solid force of stones
baptised with the gentle falling of leaves
baptised with the shimmering moonlight
baptised with the thought of salvation
baptised with the divine rays of the sun
baptised with the piercing power of thunder
baptised with the loss of a loved one
baptised in life
